Creative work I make for the love of it.

Projects outside of my day-to-day product work — where the problems are smaller, the constraints are self-imposed, and the whole point is to build something people enjoy.

The Curious Adventures of June & Fig

Author & Series Creator

One of my favorite passion projects is The Curious Adventures of June & Fig, a children’s book series I’m developing about an imaginative little girl and her dog as they turn discoveries in nature into larger-than-life adventures.

The idea started as a creative outlet and quickly became an exercise in storytelling, research, design, and building something from the ground up. Each story begins with something real from the natural world, then lets June’s imagination take over—whether a thistle inspires a witch’s potion or a bird-of-paradise flower suddenly takes flight.

Building the series

I’ve been developing the stories, characters, visual direction, educational elements, and overall series identity from concept through production. It’s very different from my day-to-day product work, but I’ve found that I love it for many of the same reasons: taking an idea, shaping the experience, solving the little problems along the way, and ultimately creating something people can enjoy.
